Comics and Statistics Workshop - Thursday Jul 18, 1:00 - 2:30 PM BA5187

Hi everybody, I wanted to invite you all to a comics workshop that I'm running in the seminar room (BA5187) this Thursday from 1-2:30 PM (during Daniel's group meeting). In the activity, participants will create a comic-style summary of the statistical analysis used in a research paper. Each attendee should bring a copy of one of their own projects (ideally a finished course project or research paper) that involved a statistical analysis. If you don't have any suitable projects, bring a research paper that you recently read. If you can attend, I'd really appreciate it! It will be a good opportunity to have fun and be creative while getting more comfortable with the statistics used in studies and discussing them with some of the more senior grad students. Please RSVP by replying to this email or my Slack post, so we have an idea of the number of attendees to prepare for. Best, Jacob

Tushar's abstract is accepted to "Together Against Stigma" (TAS) conference

Hi Group, One more good piece of news to share (and I am late in sharing this, apologies!). Tushar's work on stigma toward mental health has been accepted to be presented at the 9th International Conference on Together Against Stigma (TAS). This is the top conference of stigma and they have only invited a very few selected number of Abstracts to be presented. Tushar is now working on the full version of the paper.
