General Motors Women in Science and Mathematics Awards

Academically excellent *female* graduate students enrolled in a mathematics
or science program are eligible for this award. Seven of the ten awards
must be given to students who are OSOTF eligible. Each graduate unit may
nominate two students. Nominees must be currently registered and returning
in 2021-22.

Faculty of Arts & Science Doctoral Excellence Scholarships

This scholarship will be awarded to an academically excellent doctoral
student undertaking research that is original and significant and who has
demonstrated potential for future leadership and societal contributions.
Each graduate unit may nominate one student. An award of $25,000 will be
made to the winner, and three awards of $5,000 will be made to the runners
up. Nominees must be currently registered and returning in 2021-22.

To be awarded to a research stream Master’s or Doctoral student in A&S who
has distinguished themselves both academically and for their leadership and
contribution to the life of the University through student governance,
community service or volunteer work.

*OSOTF Restrictions*
The GM awards include OSOTF restrictions. This means that all applicants
must complete an OSOTF needs assessment and be residents of Ontario, as
defined by the OSOTF rules. OSOTF residency rules exclude current
residents who were not long-term Ontario residents prior to starting
university, with some special exceptions. All applicants for this award
must complete the OSOTF needs assessment and include it with their
application.

The University’s Research Ethics Boards are now reviewing research
proposals for low risk face-to-face human participant research, and
Occupational Health and Safety is now reviewing requests for off-campus
