First, wanted to thank all who have sent the recruitment note forward. Really appreciated! We were wondering if we could impose a little bit more on you :)

We naively thought that grad students would jump at the opportunity to take on a study to potentially help them do research... but nope! We had really low turnout so far.

In the hopes that we may get a more decent number of people apply, we are now offering a higher *$50* compensation. An updated recruitment note follows attached, feel free to send it forward (specially if you haven't already done so, and know research people/groups outside of CS).

*Anyone who has been in academia for a while has felt the pain of conducting an academic literature review. Be it reviewing and filtering countless papers or establishing connections between concepts, the process as a whole is painful and overwhelming, and has not been thoroughly supported by traditional literature management tools (e.g. Mendeley or EndNote).*

*We are two graduate students in Computer Science who are working on a project to make this process smoother. We have created a proof of concept for a new interactive tool for literature review support, and would like to evaluate it with the help of the research community.*

*For this purpose, we are seeking individuals to participate in an evaluation study. Eligible individuals will be those actively engaged in academic research (i.e. graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and professors) who are comfortable with the exercise of academic literature reviews in their field of research. Ideally, individuals should have conducted at least one in-depth literature review in their career. We are open to all fields of academic knowledge and levels of expertise.*

*The details of the study and requested time commitment are as follows:*

*The study/time commitment: Participants will be asked to interact with our research tool for a literature review task, expanding on a collection of papers related to their research, for about 1.5 to 2h. Participants will be asked to select 3-5 papers on a research topic/question they wish to explore, prior to the session (to provide via the sign up form http://bit.ly/2vIgHaf). *

*Schedule: The study will take place between August 26 and September 3. Eligible participants should have reasonable availability within those dates. *

*Eligibility: Individuals working in academic occupations (Masters, PhDs, Post-Docs and Professors) who routinely read and manage academic articles for their research are our primary focus and **as well as non-academic researchers. **We may accept senior undergraduates with substantial research experience.*

*Location: Sessions will be held at the Bahen Centre for Information Technology (40 St George St).*

*Rewards: Participants will be offered $50 for their time and contribution. And hopefully, they will get some extra insight into their own research! We are also happy to provide participants with a spreadsheet listing all the papers they collected during the study, if requested.*
