Hi all,
You might have seen the announcement about the Grad Q&A with Dr. Kentaro Toyama on Thursday 4:30 PM in the DGP Meeting Room.
I'd like to especially ask the HCI folks to attend this session.
Dr. Toyama has an amazing story. He did vision research at Microsoft Research, winning the prestigious Marr award in 2003. In 2005, he moved to India, co-established Microsoft Research India and started a group on technologies to help the world's poorest. After 5 years of amazing work and co-founding the discipline of ICTD (which relates heavily to HCI), he left Microsoft and wrote a book on how technology alone cannot solve our biggest social problems.
It's a great opportunity to talk to him and grill him with your questions.
Best, Aakar
