Hi DGP!
Please join us next week in our HCI Research Meeting in our special session on* persuasive and grant writing*!
We will be hosting a fireside chat with *Daniel Newmann*, Director of Graduate Writing Support at the Faculty of Arts & Science. Daniel is also Assistant Professor in the English Department, and in addition to a PhD in English Literature, he holds an MSc in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. He has published scholarship in literary studies, narrative theory and biology, as well as nonfiction, fiction and poetry in literary and journalistic venues. His teaching focuses almost entirely on helping graduate students with their writing.
We hope you’ll join us on *Wednesday, December 16th, 2020 from 10:10-11AM EST.* The session will include:
- A 15min discussion of current issues that we’ve all faced when writing statements of interest, grant proposals, or scholarship applications - A 15min fireside chat with Dr. Newmann - A 15min open Q&A session for attendees to directly ask Dr. Newmann any remaining questions on the topic
We’ve begun a living document of writing resources https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WG_iXdpGh4gtShH2PgxWZGDq1RdBzKlHxEP2WtcGCjc/edit?usp=sharing, where we’ve allocated space for you all to contribute any questions you may have for Dr. Newmann to cover in the fireside chat. Please check it out ahead of next Wednesday!
Looking forward to seeing all of you there!
Best,
*Gabi*, Blaine, and Dev
