International opportunities include partnerships developed with Indigenous nations both within Canadian borders and beyond. To allow as much planning time as possible, the table below summarizes requests for proposals for A&S international-related programs. Please circulate this memo to faculty members and students within your units and encourage them to attend the events listed on the second page for further information. Research Excursion Programs (REP/399) Nov. 24 Faculty members only 4 pages (including itinerary and budget) Students participate in faculty research projects off-campus. Undergraduate Research Fund Nov. 24 & Mar. 2 Undergraduate students 4 page application form (including faculty supervisor statement) Supports student research related to student’s degree. SELECT Languages for Research Purposes2 Jan. 19 Graduate students 4-8 page proposal (including transcripts) Study of languages not regularly taught at UofT. Summer Abroad courses (Summer 2018) March 15 Faculty members only Please see Summer Abroad website Teach a UofT course overseas. International/ Indigenous Course Module (ICM) March 15 Faculty and Undergraduate students 4 pages (including itinerary and budget) Incorporate an international or Indigenous module into an existing undergraduate course. 1 For projects supervising undergraduates, faculty members must hold undergraduate appointments within FAS; for projects supervising graduate students, faculty members must hold an appointment at a tri-campus graduate unit or an FAS graduate unit. 2 SELECT stands for: Study Elsewhere of Less Commonly Taught (Languages for Research Purposes); formerly known as Study Elsewhere LCTL (Less Commonly Taught Languages). Please note that there is only one round of competition for this year Fall term information events Information about A&S international opportunities, as well as opportunities to ask questions of faculty, staff and students with experience of these international programs, are available throughout the Fall term. Information Session: International and Indigenous Programs in the Faculty of Arts & Science Date: TBA. Notifications will be sent to all CPAD members and International Liaisons once confirmed. For those who would like to learn more about international programs and funding available to Arts & Science faculty members for international and Indigenous initiatives. The session will cover the programs listed above as well as a general overview of student exchanges and Summer Abroad programs. Faculty and staff are welcome to attend. Summer Abroad and Science Abroad Information Sessions Site-specific information sessions take place throughout the month of January and the first week of February.
