Hi This is definitely big news. They've had such an impact on international development and poverty elimination.
However, the use of randomized controlled trials that they have encouraged is not without criticism. I wish i could join the discussions. I have kept a tab on dev econ debates and practice in India, how the lab works, the behavioural econ/nudging/attention in data work are all part of a related ecology of generating value/getting people to behave a certain way.

Yes, using people like objects and manipulating them with behavioral nudge like objects (or animals?) are not ethical to start with. We add to that the long-term failure of such experiments as they remain confined within a temporal frame. I would like to have this debate in our lab when you are back.
