Dear All,
(please discard the previous email which got sent in the midway)
Yasaman and her team have become Champion the Hackathon for Education ( https://puebloscience.org/hackathon/) which took place today! They have developed a prototype that are supposed to be deployed in Guyana for science education!
Here is some text I copied from her email to me a while ago -
"The challenge of this hackathon was to build a robotics-based science activity kit for high school students in Guyana that:
- Clearly teaches one or more science or engineering concept(s) listed in the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) syllabi. - Can be taught, performed, and discussed by teachers and their students within two or three 90-minute instructional periods. - Uses only materials that can be purchased or easily ordered in Guyana and in total cost less than $20 CAD per kit for re-useable kits or $5 CAD per kit for non-reuseable kits. - Is hands-on and interactive (and fun!). - Satisfies the definition of “robotics activity”.
"
Congratulations, Yasaman! We are so proud of you!
Best Regards, Ishtiaque
