Subject: [Heads Up] Applications will open for Google’s CS Research
Mentorship Program (CSRMP) on June 30
To:
Hello,
We're excited to share that applications for Google’s CS Research
Mentorship Program <http://g.co/csrmp> (CSRMP) will be opening next
Thursday, June 30, 2022! CSRMP matches students in the United States and
Canada from historically marginalized groups with peers and a Google mentor
to support their pursuit of computing research pathways.
Accepted students join a broader peer community, and are invited to virtual
networking events, career panels, tech talks, workshops, and information
sessions about computing research opportunities. CSRMP does not assign
research projects or internships. The deadline to apply is July 27, 2022.
Please spread the word to students in your network and check out our
articles featuring past students Rajavi Mishra

Dear amazing postdocs,
One of our CDHI faculty members just wrote to share a newly-posted job
(looks like there is a possibility it will be converted to a TT position?).
I thought some of you might be interested. Please see the details below.
All the best,

Dear CDHI and DHN leaders,
I am forwarding below a friend's message to me -- her university is hiring
a VAP that has a chance of turning over into a TT job, in Digital Culture
and Design, and she wants me to forward it to likely people. Since I think
you will know more likely people than I do, I am passing this on to you!
All my best,
Liza

Hi Liza,
I was hoping you might share this with grads and your network. Below is a
message to another colleague describing this new open position. The VAP
(visiting assistant) and the eventual t-t hire will join a vibrant faculty,
including recent hires, Sarah Laiola (UC, Riverside, director) and Anna
Mukamel (Stanford), incoming in Fall. We just moved designations and to a
lowered teaching load; all courses typically cap at 15/20. Would be
delighted to see some crossover in Medieval etc!
****
We did make a hire (Anna Mukamel, Stanford), but as it turns out, we now
are doing another search. We need someone for next year right off, as our
numbers continue to grow, so it is going up now as a VAP to cover specific
courses.
However, we are starting the next tenure-track search early in Fall,
encouraging anyone who applies here to apply for the permanent position.
No commitments or promises of course, but we are encouraging the hire for
this VAP to apply for the permanent t-t in Fall. I take over as Chair of
ENGL/DCD in a month as well.
Here is the job ad for the VAP:
