Subject: Deadline extended for Innovate for Impact: Siemens Design Challenge
To:
Dear Colleague,
We hope this email finds you well. During these uncertain times, E4C is
committed to advancing technology for good. We encourage you and your
students to use this downtime under orders to stay home and do something
that matters <https://bit.ly/2WWKdHA>.
Today we are halfway through the application period for a design challenge
intended to solve two critical global problems. The Siemens Design Challenge
<https://bit.ly/2WWKdHA>, in collaboration with E4C, calls for a better
means of desalinating brackish water and new ways to reduce post-harvest
food losses. The challenge was developed before COVID-19 escalated, but the
solutions it calls for can support isolated communities and reduce the
spread of this and future diseases. We encourage you to mobilize your
community to Innovate for Impact and promote the challenge to your networks
with our convenient Social Media Kit
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1aUjOOB2jEn_lsigyDZRDrf5PTIJrfxkxRoz27KE…>
.
This is a step we can take now, for better health during future outbreaks
and to meet the basic human needs of adequate food and water.
Siemens has made its Solid Edge 3D CAD software freely available to
students and professors taking part in the challenge, and for use in future
design projects. This is a chance to sharpen your CAD skills while
improving lives in underserved communities.
If you don’t have a solution in mind, no problem. Students and experts with
relevant skills can register now and join a team to help develop their
ideas.
We can do this.
All the best,
Engineering for Change
