IMPORTANT: Hardware room maintenance

Hi Everyone, As some of you may have already noticed, we have worked hard on tidying and cleaning the hardware room, for everyone to enjoy a nice, comfortable, and safe workspace. Thank you again to those of you who helped with this! In order to keep that space enjoyable and safe for everyone, we ask each and everyone of you to please get the space and workbenches in the same shape as you found it; which means: 1 - put all the tools and supply back to the storage place where they belong 2 - wipe the workbench(es) you used 3 - sweep the floor (or use vacuum) For instance (see photos attached), someone left the glue gun and a supply box on the workbenches after using them. This is not good practice. We need to do better. We are grateful to everyone for diligently upholding the highest standards in maintaining this space from now on. Thanks, Fanny

F170 working again

Hi Everyone, The technician has been in and serviced the F170 Stratasys printer in 5180. We've run a test print and think we know the issue that caused the problem - the head change and excessive vibration taking the unit out of calibration. The unit was serviced, power cycled, disconnected from power and then when powered up a manual calibration was run. After adjusting the for the manual calibration (it showed it was out of the required tolerances) an automatic calibration was run and another manual calibration to confirm the results of the automatic one (the manual calibration showed it was aligned within tolerances). It's been printing for a couple of hours without issue. Thanks, -John

Looking for next week's hardware room monitor

Dear all, We are restarting the hardware room's weekly monitor policy. A new monitor is responsible for monitoring the hardware room every week. Training for the new 3d fuse 1+ formlabs printer, Monday Jun 19th 10 am

Hi Everyone, The technician from our Formlabs reseller will be here to lead a training session for the new Fuse Printer in 5192. We should be starting around 10 am. If you haven't done the hardware room training we can set a time for you to do by contacting dgplab(a)dgp.toronto.edu. Fuse training will be available for those who can't make the session by request, again by contacting dgplab(a)dgp.toronto.edu . Thanks, -John

Hi Everyone, We're running a training session for the hardware space in 5180 and the laser cutter Friday 3rd at 11 am . Another session will run Feb 10th at 11 am. As part of the training, I'll also include a tutorial of how to use the video/audio conference, recording and presentation in 5187 (Seminar room). This isn't required for the hardware training, but useful for running meetings or talks in the Seminar room. If the room is busy during your training session we'll arrange another time for that part.
