Project Title:

Mathematical Surface Representations for Conceptual Design

Project Leader:

Karan Singh (University of Toronto)

Project Description:

Computer Graphics continues to battle the challenging question: "How quickly and effectively can a designer transform a mental concept into a digital object, that is easy to refine and reuse?". If hearing, speech and sight are analogous to the audio IN, audio OUT and video IN of an electronic device, the essence of our problem is that humans don't have an explicit video OUT. The focus of this project is, therefore, to develop new mathematical representations or build upon existing ones, to capture the essence of shape as perceived by designers.
