If you're using a black and white machine on CDF, you'll have to
disable the colours in emacs.  To do so, execute the following
command, which updates your .emacs startup file:

   cp ~jstewart/.emacs-nocolour ~/.emacs

Do this *before* you run emacs!



If you want to enable colours again, execute the following command:

   cp ~jstewart/.emacs ~/.emacs

Again, do this before you run emacs.
