Hi everyone,
Thank you for filling out the doodle poll. I will reach out individually to everyone of you for the regular 1:1 meetings.
For the group meetings, we have a clear winner. Starting from September, our group meetings will be on Tuesdays, 11am. The dgp seminar room is booked for us for the term at that slot.
I would also like to take the opportunity to welcome our two new group members, starting in September: Josh, Minfan and Jarry. Welcome to the visualization research group, and more generally to the DGP lab!
For the newcomers, here’s a bit of useful information:
vrg@dgp.toronto.edu is our group mailing list. Messages are moderated. All of the students under my supervision are listed. Feel free to use that mailing list to reach out to the group
dgplab@dgp.toronto.edu is the whole dgp mailing list. You should be added to that list automatically. there are a bunch of other mailing lists that you will be automatically subscribed to. I wouldn’t be able to draw an exhaustive list at the moment. Important: don’t ignore departmental emails! Don’t ignore emails to the vrg and/or dgplab mailing lists.
dgpvis.slack.com is our group slack team. This is both an informal and formal communication channel. Use it for any communication with the rest of the members of the group I’m using slack to reach out to students as a more effective communication channel than emails. Please install the app and enable notifications so I can reach out to you easily. Please subscribe to all of the channels that are relevant to you. Don’t invite external people to this slack team.
dgp-lab.slack.com is the dgp-wide slack team. This is also an informal and formal communication channel, where everyone from the lab shares. This one is a paid plan, so all of the content is archived. You can create private channels for research purposes. Don’t invite external people, unless you have talked to me about them.
Looking forward to seeing you all.
Best, Fanny
