Dear Grads and Faculty,

"Displacements" is the very first all-digital, all-multimedia conference co-organized by the Society for Cultural Anthropology and the Society for Visual Anthropology. It will be streaming live Thursday 19th- Saturday 21th April and showcase multimedia presentations as well as ethnographic feature films from all over the world.

You can check the 2mns trailer or the program, and stream individually, on any device, for a registration fee of 10$. This sounds nice enough. But much better sounding would be a gathering together this Friday April 20th from 9am to 12pm, in McGraw 125! We will stream the plenary with Eduardo Kohn & Lisa Stevenson, Jason De Leon, Stephanie Spray and Anand Pandian and then our very own stellar panel, including a constellation of shining Cornell anthro grads: Elif Sari, Rebekah Ciribassi, Erin Routon and myself. We hope to have friendly faces and support in the room as we stare at the screen.

Trivia, in case you are not already completely convinced: there will be crystals of sugar intake and clouds of coffee flowing, thanks to Liz and the Public Affairs Committee. If you could please RSVP to me / cc Liz by Tuesday 17th, morning, it would make the food order easier.

Feel free to share with colleagues, friends, pets and alternative significant others who may be interested,

Best,

Emiko
