Hi dgp hci students,

There are some interesting papers every year submitted to alt.chi. I encourage you to have a look and add a comment if you feel inspired for the ones you read.

See below one such paper whose topic should be of your interest.

Hey there,

Happy new year!

Pierre and I just wrote an alt.chi article entitled The Continued Prevalence of Dichotomous Inferences at CHI, and we would like to know whether you would be willing to contribute an open (non-anonymous) review. Your review can be very short.

As you may know, alt.chi has an invitation-to-review process. It is not unusual from authors to invite people they know to review their article, and it is not against reviewing rules. We think our submission can be of interest to you and we would very much appreciate if you could share your thoughts.

Instructions on how to submit a review are on the alt.chi webpage. Should you need further instruction on how to use the reviewing system, we have created this list of instructions available here

Your review can be short and informal. Alt.chi reviews are more discussion-oriented than acceptance/rejection-oriented (though they will help chairs decide on acceptance). You don't need to be exhaustive and you can decide to focus on specific aspects of the submission in order to spark discussions.

The final deadline for reviews is the 21st of January, however, the earlier a review is posted the more discussions it will foster.

Thank you very much,
