Hi all,

me and Seongkook are planning to run a usability study sometime later this summer (ideally before the CHI deadline :) if the ethics comes through in time). This is a classic controlled experiment, looking at a touch-based interface to help correct recognition errors during voice input (dictation) on mobile devices.

If anyone is interested in helping with this please let me know. Given that the study is fairly straightforward, this is a great opportunity to practice running controlled experiments for those of you who have not done a complete such study yet (or those of you who are experienced but have some spare cycles or wouldn't mind the extra pay :) ) The position will be paid as hourly rate, and any publications coming out of this will receive co-authorship rights.

The interface is almost complete, and a crude prototype is currently working (prior work was done by a collaborator's PhD student at SFU who can no longer work on this). However this will require a bit of additional coding -- all in Python + Kivy.

Please let me know if you're interested in helping out and I'll follow up with more details.

Thanks,

Cosmin
