Résumé

At a Glance

I am a Masters Student in Graphics at the Dynamic Graphics Project. I received my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Washington, with minors in Mathematics and Physics. I've been programming since ~6th grade as a hobby. Take a look at my projects page to see some examples of what I've done.

I'm a skier and a gamer. My games of choice are Halo (Ryuuji42), StarCraft, and Rock Band (drums, mostly).

Google, Inc. - Software Engineering Intern, June 2008 - August 2008
Worked as part of the Google Desktop team to reengineer the Quick Search Box. Added functionality to connect to online Google services (such as Gmail contacts) and improve user experience by keeping track of previous entries to provide quick results.
Torpex Games - Programmer Intern, January 2008 – February 2008
Worked on Schizoid, the first Xbox Live Arcade game developed in XNA. Appeared in the credits.
Research Assistant - September 2007 to June 2008
Assisted a graduate student in his work, to be presented at UIST 2008. We explored techniques to analyze motion in video, ultimately allowing a user to annotate video at interactive speeds.
Expedia, Inc. - SDE Internship, June 2007 - September 2007
Incorporated a unit testing framework (CPPUnit). Wrote a script to examine a database for expiring entries and send emails to appropriate managers to request updates. Created a page to view the history of these updates. Fixed Firefox incompatibility in AJAX code. Used AJAX to eliminate page refresh during intermediate form validation.
UW CSE 457 (Intro to Graphics) Teaching Assistant, Fall 2006, Spring 2007, Spring 2008
TA for Intro to Computer Graphics. Managed a project (a raytracer application). Graded written homework assignments and coding projects. Conducted help sessions to aid students in completing projects.
Teranode - SDE Internship, June 2005 - September 2005
Created technology demonstrations utilizing Java Server Faces, AJAX, Spring Framework, CSS, and Web Services. Member of a team project to export database access/search functionality to web services. Created a sample AJAX and servlet powered webpage to demonstrate the search capability.
Expedia, Inc. - SDE Internship, June 2004 - September 2004
Financial record reconciliation tool designed to automate report creation for corporate customers. Rewrote VBA-based Excel macros to a C#-based .net application. Succeeded in reducing report generation time from 30 hours manually to 30 minutes with the tool's assistance.
