Here are PDF files for the slides I have shown in class. Note that some of them are very large. These notes are for your use only. Please do not redistribute these files.

I recommend that you just view them as you need them, because I will certainly be modifying them as we go through the year. We will be returning to much of the material I have already presented. There is much more material in these slides than we have covered so far. Some slides also contain a fair bit of math, which you can ignore for now.

You will need the Acrobat reader (available free from Adobe). Some presentations are also available below in Powerpoint format. Note that you should use the "slide show presentation" mode to see the powerpoint slides as presented in class.
