Ron DeCarlantanio is founder and President of iNAGO Inc. (Intelligent Agents Online), www.inago.com, a company which is “creating the next generation of intelligent digital life applications and technology.”  INAGO and its sister company, 9003inc. Canada Corp., have been developing and marketing consumer entertainment products such as Virtual Aquaria and Virtual Birds since 1993.

 

17 January

Greg Rubridge is a co-founder and CEO of Rare Medium Canada Inc., previously Hype!Inc., www.hype.com.  Greg and his partners founded Hype roughly 3 years ago and were acquired in March 1999 by the New York-based Rare Medium Group Inc., www.raremedium.com, a ”leading provider of Internet and E-commerce business solutions.”

Andrew Cheung  is founder and CEO of 01 Communique Laboratory Inc., www.01com.com, which was formed in 1992 “to develop and market a new line of communication software products which provide superior fax, contact management, telephony and Internet capabilities, within a single program interface, making it easy and intuitive for users to communicate and manage their business contacts.”

Jonathan Shekter is the founder of Visual Infinity, Inc., a small graphics software development company which focuses on the high-end video and film special effects market.  A recent project was the contracted development of a retail software product, Atomic Power Corporation's "Evolution" package (www.atomicpower.com), now widely used in feature films, television shows, commercials, and station ID's.

Ian Small is Chief Strategist and Chief Knowledge Officer of USWeb/CKS, www.uswebcks.com, a firm that builds and implements strategic branding and advertising, systems integration, network design and e-commerce solutions for Fortune 500 companies around the globe.   USWeb/CKS, which has grown rapidly through acquisitions, recently announced that it would merge with Whittman-Hart to create the world’s largest Internet professional services firm, with 8,000 professionals in 70+ offices in 13 countries worldwide.  Ian has degrees in Engineering Science and Computer Science from the University of Toronto.

Rick Segal is Founder and CEO of Chapters Online, a Canadian electronic commerce company that operates Chapters.ca, www.chapters.ca, a leading online retailer of books, music CDs, videos, DVDs and software with an online database listing more than 2.5 million book titles, as well as over 46,000 music CD titles and over 28,000 videotape and DVD titles.

Philip Stern is founder and principal of Stern Thinking, www.sternthinking.com, a firm that helps private companies and their existing investors create Business Plans that raise money.  He is also the founder of a new dot-com that is just being launched.  Prior to Stern Thinking, his was founder and CEO of Simon/Ross + Associates Inc., a Macintosh training firm; Manager, Industry Marketing, and Manager, Corporate Development, of MDI Mobile Data International; Vice President, Marketing and Sales, of Pacific Microcircuits; and President of Knoware Inc.
